Academic

Religion:    Children will be encouraged to develop a sense of reverence and spiritual awareness.

Art:    Children will be encouraged to use art activities as a verbal/nonverbal means of expression.

Computers:    Children will be introduced to computers within the classroom.

Language Arts:    Program will cover listening, speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.

Mathematics:    Through the use of manipulatives and hands-on experiences, children will develop an understanding of mathematical concepts.

Music:    Pre-schoolers will be exposed to music on a daily basis.

Play:    Children will develop positive self-esteem through interaction with others.

Physical Education:    Children will display control over their bodies by developing fine and gross motor skills.

Social Studies:    Children will develop an awareness of the world around them.

Science:    Children will become aware of living things and respect human life.

THE 2010 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE THE BEST EVER!

*Maschio’sFood Service Info: Our hot lunch program will begin on Monday, September 13^th.Pre-paid meals may be purchased in the amount of 10 meal tickets for $32.50 and20 meal tickets for $65.00. Lunch tickets will be held by the student’s teacherand distributed as needed. Please make checks out to Maschio’s Food Services,Inc.

Please be sureto identify payment with student’s name, grade, and teacher. (Students may alsouse cash for purchases)

*Suzuki String Program: We are pleased to offer an exciting new String Program forgrades 1-3, through the Mallinson Music Studios. Please refer to the enclosed flyer for additional information.

*Autumn Fundraiser: It’s time to think about fall and those beautiful mums! Our H S A is sponsoring an autumn mum/plant sale at Ash’s Flower Farm on Rte. 206 inHillsborough, on Saturday, September 25^th. Flyer will be sent homein the September 22^nd envelope. In order for the school to receivethe 10% credit, you must present the flyer at the time of purchase. Thanks for supporting this fund raiser!

*Schedule reminder: Thursday, September 9^th, and Friday, September 10^th,are full days, with dismissal at 3:00 p.m. Please be sure your child bring slunch from home, as we are not beginning the hot lunch program until Monday,September 13^th.

*Handbook Update: Our school handbook, which is under revision, will be completed shortly.You will receive a copy, with a tear out page to be signed by you and your child. I will inform you about the day on which the handbook will be sent home.
