Home of the Knights
We are very excited about our Athletic Department at CTK and we are very excited about all we have to offer our students! The athletic program, a vital part of the total education program at our school, supports the school mission by making positive contributions to the development of the participants, spectators, school, and community. Every student in the 4th through 8th grade will have an equal opportunity to participate in the privilege of age specific athletics and to be part of the proud tradition of athletics at Christ The King School.
For the 2008/2009 school year we will have Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball Teams from 4th Grade up to 8th grade, a cheerleading team, as well as a softball team! We are looking to expand our sports programs for the 2009/2010 school year, some ideas have been Volleyball & Soccer. Our students participate in a competitive Diocesan/Parish league and our games are usually on the weekends throughout the individual seasons. Our teams are coached by parent volunteers, and the athletic program is overseen by our pastor, principal, athletic director, and a parent Athletic Committee. We look to continue to excel in our athletic programs and support our children to learn skills, play with sportsmanship, and most importantly- HAVE FUN! We have also made many improvements to our facilities. We have installed a new state of the art scoreboard, and we are also in the process of refinishing our gym floor!

Communications
The school administration, including the Athletic Department, communicates with parents in a variety of ways:
1. The school website provides calendars, schedules, daily announcements, newsletters, and emergency information 2. An Open House for all parents is conducted each year in early September. 3. Special topic letters are mailed home for athletic issues which warrant a detailed explanation and/or request. 5. Each athletic team will have a parent meeting prior to the first practice of the season. The Head coach communicates expectations of the program to the parents and players regarding team rules and proper use of school facilities, uniforms, and equipment. Procedures regarding athlete and/or parent concerns are also communicated.
Parent Involvement Parents will be asked to participate in our athletic programs throughout the seasons. We ask that parents become involved to help us fundraise, run games and coach. More information will be relayed to the parents during individual seasons and through your child's coaches!
Dear Lord, Please help me to be a good sport, whether I win, or whether I lose. To take care of myself, and those around me.
